About the Alliance

The Central South Screen Alliance exists to unite the screen and creative broadcast industries across the Central South, connecting crew, facilities, education and local authorities to strengthen the region's screen sector and create long-term opportunities for businesses and talent alike.

Bringing together industry, public sector and education partners from across Hampshire, the Solent, Portsmouth, Southampton, Bournemouth and Winchester, the Alliance is committed to ensuring the Central South has a strong, coordinated voice within the UK's screen industry

Our Mission

CONNECT: Creating a single regional voice that links industry, education and public sector organisations.

GROW: Attracting inward investment, supporting production activity and encouraging the development of new screen infrastructure across the region.

SUSTAIN: Developing skills, strengthening talent pipelines and supporting a flexible, highly skilled workforce for long-term careers in film, television and creative broadcast

Why It Matters

The Central South is home to world-class production facilities, experienced crew, leading universities and colleges, and a growing network of creative businesses. Yet historically the region has received limited screen-sector investment compared to other parts of the UK.

The Alliance has been established to bring these organisations together, creating a stronger collective voice that can support investment, funding opportunities, skills development and future growth for the industry across the region.

Founding Partners

The Alliance brings together public, industry and education partners from across Hampshire, the Solent and the wider Central South including global production houses such as Woodcut Media and Millstream Productions, world renowned facilities such as Farnborough International Studios, networking and convening organisations such as Southern Creative Catalyst and Hampshire Chamber of Commerce and HE and FE production skills delivery partners such as Portsmouth University, Solent University, The South Hampshire College Group, Bournemouth and Winchester Universities.

Farnborough International Studios' Role

Farnborough International Studios has played a leading role in helping establish the Central South Screen Alliance and is positioned as the lead industry partner for the initiative. Working alongside partners across the region, the Studios is helping to build stronger industry connections, support workforce development and promote the Central South as a destination for production and investment
